That is correct. That item will insert all the needed javascript for the tracking pixel.

There also should be a <mvt:item name="mslscb" param="prod> in the Product Display Layout on the PROD page. This item displays the Microsoft gleam on the product page.

        awesome, thank you! :)

our feed published, and if we have our tracking pixel in, our products should be live? or does it take a day?

also, the product page cashback code is not there, do you by chance know where i should put it?

        i greatly appreciate the help.

There is some time lag between the publish and being live. I'm not sure how long, it depends on Microsoft's processing time.

When you install the module it attempts to add the product item right after the "Add to Basket" button in the Product Display Layout of the PROD page. If it can't find that button for some reason (possibly the template was customized) then it doesn't get added. But you could add it manually anywhere you like in that same part of the template.

            Re: microsoft live search cashback

okay, i have emails out to my cashback sales rep and support as to my products' status..

i did find the product page code when i looked where you described, it didn't show up when i searched for it because i didnt have it formatted like
            <mvt:item name="mslscb" param="prod" />

however, this is not showing up on our page, nor does it show up when i move it any other place on the page...any ideas?

            thanks

The gleam will only show up if you come through Live Search cashback. If you're just looking in your store "normally" to see it, you won't find anything.

I'll let Mark post how you can "fake" it so you can see it directly.

There are a number of reasons why you may not be seeing the gleam, even though you have the item in your Product Display Layout template.

                  1) The mvt:item doesn't generate anything unless this session is a "mslscb session". Whenever you go to any page on your store with the "&mslscb=yes" appended to the URL, you get an mslscb session.

                  2) Even if it is an mslscb session, if you didn't actually transfer to your store from the Live Search site, all you get is a rectangle in the color of the background of your page.

The way I check this in our test store is by going to a product page. Then I click in the browser address bar and append &mslscb=yes to the URL and hit enter. This creates the mslscb session. Then depending on the layout sometimes you can see where the rectangle is being placed. But to be sure, I do a view source and find the javascript code for the gleam.

                  Hope this helps.

The Miva Admin Panel hangs when I try to publish and then it says "Application timed out". I'm trying to publish ~ 6000 items.

                    Any suggestions?

i had this problem too, except it randomly worked on time...maybe try a different browser?

we are using shortlinks and when i append "&mslscb=yes" to a link we just get an error message. my sales rep said everything went through except our test purchase for the tracking pixel, maybe this is what is causing it?

You'll need to append that to a "normal" link not a short link for testing.

"The links did work for me—in this case, all the product URL’s in the data feed must hold the "&mslscb=yes” which must hold the tracking pixel. Please be sure to change the shop-by-store URL in the merchant center so that it will pass the tracking pixel as well."

how exactly do i change this?

Have you opened a support ticket, they can show you how to do this.
                            Thanks,

While we are waiting for that bug to get fixed...

I do not see any price information in the feed file that gets published. Does that mean that that microsoft live (or Jellyfish) retrieves that (and other info) directly from my miva store during Publishing?

I'm wondering if I change prices in my store, do I need to republish -or does microsoft live have a hook (i.e. dynamic link ) to the current prices on the miva site?

The price information is in the feed (column 10). So Microsoft does not have any dynamic access to your store info. When things change you need to re-publish.
