I missed the part about Google checkout when I responded last night. It is not Google checkout that is causing the problem. The next release of the software will rectify this issue.

        Re: microsoft live search cashback

I have just released the streaming update. The two biggest items are fixing the publish timeouts and making sure the tracking pixel always appears on the invoice page.

Here is the information from the release notes:

Microsoft Live Search cashback module for Miva Merchant 5. (module-mslscb-2)
This update fixes the following items:
        • The message on the inport and export screens when the module is not installed in the store was too vague. The message has been given more detail and there is a link to the screen where you can install the module.
        • The product links in the publish data feed will always be the full long URLs, even if the SEO short links are turned on.
        • The tracking pixel javascript code on the invoice page was only including products that were enabled in the module. Microsoft requires all products be included. This has been fixed.
        • The publish feature could easily time out if the number of products in the feed was large enough. This has been fixed by adding a progress bar for the export phase of the publish.
        • The tracking pixel javascript code is now output to the invoice page whenever the module is enabled. There is no longer a concept of MSlscb session, since Microsoft provides no way for us to tell reliably if the shopper came from the Live Search website.
        • There was a bug in the import functions that caused one record to be lost everytime a refresh was required. The calculation of the offset remembered accross refreshes has been corrected.

I apologize for any inconvenience, but this snuck through our testing because all our test stores are inside our firewall and are able to access that URL. I have corrected the URL and released another update. Once you install module-mslscb-3 this problem will go away.

ok...I installed the latest streaming update and got past the Runtime error.

However, now there is a new problem.

Publish Export Progress Bar gets within 1/8 inch from 100%
says "System Extension Setting updated" below it.
              then Application times out.

Tried publishing three times with the same result.

I just updated my store and was able to successfully publish the marked 315 items.

                Thanks Rick!

How exactly is the cashback.txt file sent to Microsoft? Do I need to "publish" to send it, or is it some kind of automatic cron job or something? I'm thinking of just using Weiland's Template Data Feed to construct the cashback.txt file and then place it in the export directory, but don't know how Microsoft will know I put it there.

As an aside, I was able to successfuly publish when I cut back the number of ENABLED products 50% (~3000). However, I want to publish twice that.

                    Re: microsoft live search cashback

Papi: I believe the file is sent automatically. When I've published my items, the progress bar moves to about 1/8" from 100% as you observed earlier, then, after a few seconds, I get an alert box saying 'Publish was successful" with an OK button. I'm guessing that the very last set is the automatic FTPing of the publish file to Microsoft.

It's automatically published, but if you're timing out, I'm sure we'd like to look at it. How many products are you trying to publish?

                        6359 products

Here are some additional developments. I contacted Microsoft to see if they received the partial data I published. They responded that they see a data feed with 6007 lines. So I'm wondering if a large percentage of the items were published despite it timing out on me?

However, there is one additional problem with the feed that they pointed out, "Merchant Category is missing from your data feed. This data is in column 15 – a.k.a. column O. This column should contain the category you have assigned to the product on your site."

I did not see in the instructions that this was a required category, though I should have known better. I asked for a list of valid Merchant Categories....or is there not a list of standard categories the Microsoft uses. i.e. Should I just insert my default category codes from my store?

I can send my datafeed from my export directory to Mark if that helps you guys troubleshoot this issue.

                          Update:

I re-published - this time with Category Codes assigned. I see by looking at cashback.txt file, that there is some sort of auto mapping of the categories to create a category path/tree.

It appears that this time only 5932 products make it through before the applicaiton timed out. I'm actually attempting to publish 6359 products.

The size of my cashback.txt file is 3.64 MB (3,819,169 bytes).

My software sez that I am up-to-date so I have re-published my list. There is no indication of whether or not it is working. So, for those of us who had signed up early and were getting pixel tracking problems, what is the procedure? Is the fix already incorporated or do we uninstall and re-install? If so, where is the module?

If you've run the updates, go back to Microsoft and have them run a test order, it should work now.

No module. No uninstall. Just install the the latest streaming update for Miva Merchant.

There is an indication if it publishes successfully. Some sort of message pops up if all goes well. Apparently if it times out on you, a certain portion of your data will still get published. You just need to go to your export folder to see where it got interupted. My tracking pixel and data feed was found to be valid and my account has been activated. However, I'm still waiting for a solution on how to get the rest of the data published.
