    All HTTPS

    Any hints (other than upgrading) to convert an MM5.5 site to all HTTPS? Updating the Site Configuration isn't having any impact on the SEO Settings - all the links still begin with http. Do I need to get into the htaccess doc and change it there for this page to show https "Sample URLs based on settings"? Also, none of the cssui_links are https. Are all of the mvt:item type links going to have to be converted?

      I'm brain dead at the moment - will it break the current site? (Sorry it's been a really long 8 days).

        Sounds like the site isn't using a "prescribed" method of creating URLs. Even the old methods can/should be able to switch to always output https:...but yea, at this point, long term, if the site isn't worth updating to 9.0 based templates, it's probably not worth keeping IMO.

          Just an opinion, but its just not that big a deal - although it may seem so on the face. If you can, it gives you an opportunity to convert over to relative URLs instead of literal ones. Dump the SQL, search-n-replace, import the SQL. Search-n-replace all the other files on the site - and that's about it. You'd prolly have to get into the htaccess dance more to adapt to existing exterior links. I understand everyone's encouragement to upgrade but if you have to adapt you can.

            That's what I thought, but neither of what would be considered "default" link formats are switching to https

            Code:
            &mvte:cattree_category:link;
            isn't converting.
            And none of the
            Code:
            mvt:item name="cssui_links"
            type links.

              Leslie,

              It's been so long, I'd definitely contact TAC and have them run the upgrade for you. It shouldn't break anything, but putting it in maintenance mode and being careful with TAC watching is the best path.
              Thanks,

                I have already mentioned to the store owner that we need to get the site updated. I'm waiting for a reply.
