    Inventory Tracking

I am using Miva 9.0003 and attempting to use Inventory Tracking. I only want to use this on specific products and when they are out of stock, I want that product to be hidden. Here's what I have set so far:

    Store Inventory
    • Track Inventory - Checked
    • Track Out of Stock Level - Checked
    • Hide Out of Stock Products - Checked

    Product Inventory
    • Track Product - Checked
    • Track Low Stock Level - Default
    • Track Out of Stock Level - Default
    • Hide Out of Stock Products - Default

I set the Current Stock = 1. This message appeared within the product - 1 available for immediate delivery

Once I added this product to my shopping cart and entered the Check Out process... the Current Stock = 0 and this is the message that appeared on the product page - Sorry, we are currently sold out of 'Bloom Designs To-Go Golf Cups (Travel Mug) - Wild Tee (Zebra)'. Please check back later.

I do not want the Stock Level messages to display. I only want the product to be hidden. Help...what am I missing???

    Thanks, Candy

There should be a section located under Catalog > Inventory
Scroll to the Out of Stock level
    Above Out of Stock Level:
You should see a checkbox for Hide Out of Stock Products
You can change the out of stock level to 1 if that is when you want the product hidden

Let me know if that does not work

I already set it that way...see my original where it says "Store Inventory" - I guess I should have said Catalog > Inventory. Any other suggestions?

The individual product also needs to be tracked as well
So make sure the track product checkbox is selected under the product you want to hide.
If that is already in place submit a support ticket so I can take a closer look.

I also had the individual product set the way you suggested (see original post) but "Hide Product" didn't work. Unfortunately, today I discovered that because I checked the "track inventory" on the catalog page, we started having lots of issues with particular products showing specific colors and/or sizes were not available ( I was forced to uncheck until I can resolve the problem). When we were using Miva 5 (before we had a complete redesign), we encountered the same issue so we unchecked "track inventory." That problem was never fixed but we were hoping with a completely new site, we would not experience this again. Not sure how it happened, but it appears that there are products that the "track inventory" was checked but no one seems to know how that happened. Is there a way to see what products have "track inventory" checked without going through over 2,000+ products?

Also, I did open a support ticket this morning - HEA-250-62767.

          Thanks for you help, Candy

            Re: Inventory Tracking

You can do a product export for your inventory.

In the Export fields, you only need to include name (product code is automatically exported). In the Inventory fields, Track Product Inventory is the only field you need in order to see what is being tracked and what isn't. You can export any of the others you might want. Select any other fields you want (we have Brands as a custom field and usually use it too).

We export file format as Product Import and we do a tab delimited file.

This should give you the file you want. Open in Excel and you can even sort by that Track Product Inventory field so you have a complete list in order of what is and isn't tracked.
