    AdWords Conversions with Enhanced E-Commerce

I have Enhanced Ecommerce wired up and working in my store using the tracking code that comes with Miva 9. I have a goal set up in Analytics and can see conversions there. All of this seems to be working great.

I have also connected my Analytics account to Adwords, imported goals, and turned on Auto Tagging. The problem is that I'm not seeing any conversions in AdWords even though there are conversions that I know were generated from clicks to our AdWords ads. Has anyone else solved this or is anyone else having this problem?

One thing that might be a hint is that I do see paid search traffic in Analytics when I filter on that segment. But no goal completions indicate paid search as the source. The goal completions are there, there just aren't in the paid search segment. I've run tests by clicking on our ads. I can see the traffic attributed to paid search, but the goal completion loses the the paid search segment somehow.

    Any ideas are much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure AdWords has its own tracking code separate from Google Analytics that needs to be added to INVC so it can properly track the conversion and conversion values.

You should be able to get the tracking code in your Adwords Account

AdWords does have it's own tracking, but if I turn that on as well as importing my goals from Analytics, it will double count conversions.

Conversions are showing up in Analytics using the Miva Enhanced Ecommerce code. Some of those conversions should tie to AdWords ads, but I think something in the Miva code is losing the fact that the conversion came from a click on an ad.

I know that I had an Analytics property that was not set up correctly when I tied it in with my Adwords account, and that caused similar results for me. If that is a possible culprit for you, it can be checked by going to Adwords > Tools > Conversions and clicking on the conversion action that you have linked to Adwords. You should see a conversion action that has a source of Analytics, Value of Each conversion has a different value, Category of Purchase/Sale, and Include in "Conversions" checked.

Thanks mcrmedical. I'm good on those settings. I called the Google and they said that the analytics code needed to be inside and at the bottom of the head tags. I'm skeptical that will make a difference, but I moved it and we'll see. I'll report back. Thanks!

Moving the code into the head tag worked. I'm not sure if it was in the footer by default (maybe a bug for Miva), or if I moved it there at some point on my own (quite possible)

I have one final issue in that the conversions are coming over without a value. I think I've fixed it but won't know for sure until everything makes it's way over to AdWords.

One more tweak was needed to get the conversion value to come over and that was to import the "Transactions" goal from Analytics which is a default goal when you have Enhanced E-Commerce turned on. When you create your own goals, it won't pull in the value of a sale from Analytics on those goals, so far as I can tell. Must use "Transactions" goal.
