Are there any companies willing to share their experience in transitioning form URLs (product code structured URLs) to the new URI module? We would be interested in learning what you might recommend and what challenges you faced in going through the process.

I did this a couple years ago. I remember that it was not terribly complicated, and I was able to do the migration successfully, but it did take some work. I spent some time planning how to do the migration and developing a detailed run list of tasks before starting. The time invested in planning paid off with a migration without any problems.
I did it through exporting current URLs for all products and categories and then importing CSV files to get the new URLs and all the redirects set up correctly. I think there was more time spent in Excel working with the exports and generating the new data to import than was spent working in Miva.
Sorry I don't have more of the specifics on the process I used. Like I said, it's been a few years and I don't remember all the detail. But it wasn't difficult to do and didn't require programming--just some basic Excel work to generate the new URLs that I wanted using formulas.Last edited by oliverands; 09-24-20, 01:05 AM.Todd Gibson
