    Receiving Payments

Hi, I have a Miva Merchant account and I need some help with the way it works for receiving payments. I've been to the online documentation but they're some things which I still don't understand. By the way a lot of the pages in the documentation are not working and I get thrown a Bad Gateway error message. Anyway here goes.

I've set up the MIVA account to receive payment via Miva payment but right now I still have no idea how the money paid through the website will be credited to my account. Is there a place that I can enter MY bank account details such that the money can be automatically transferred everytime a transaction occurs?

And secondly, when I click on "Generate Certificates" for MIVA Payment under the Admin panel, I get a popup which says MvCommerce Error: The MyCompany merchant is not configured to use the Cybersource system, please contact your support representative.

Could someone please help me troubleshoot the error? Opening support ticket only gets me very vague replies which don't really help much. Thanks in advance.

First, have you actually setup an account with MIVA Payment? You need to sign up using the signup wizard and create an account with them first.

Second, you need to contact your host and tell them to install the ICS2 commerce library, or correct the configuration file to access it.

I see.... Pardon my ignorance but I was under the impression that MIVA Merchant Express came with the payment gateway. I guess I was mistaken.

In any case, why do I need my host to install the ICS2 commerce library when the payment processing is being done by MIVA? Shouldn't the certificates and the SSL be done within MIVA?

Vic, he's got a legit question - if MIVA is hosting this product they should have all this set up shouldn't they - with the exception of him creating his own MIVA Payment account.

          Re: Receiving Payments

          Hi All,

From the first question (post), it does not appear that the question is related to MIVA Express, however from the second post we can confirm it.

You do not need to install the commerce library OR SSL from your host in case of MIVA Express, MIVA should install/ configure the commerce library and SSL for you because they are hosting the MIVA Express website for you.

Most probably the error that you are receiving is due to misconfigured merchant account and the suggestion from Vic was correct that you need to first signup for a MIVA account from your MIVA Express control panel.

Do let us know if you need further information.

There is no probably about it.

The configuration is not setup to access the ICS2 commerce library. It has nothting to do with the merchant account being misconfigured. There are 2 issues here.

The lack of a pointer to the commerce library, and you need to signup for MIVA Payment which is MIVA's co-branded Cybersource payment gateway.

The first part, yes, MIVA should fix (it shouldnt have needed fixing in the first place IMHO), and the second part is the customer's responsibility.

              Re: Receiving Payments

As Kanu said, you just need to sign up through the MIVA Payment signup wizard. Commerce library is already installed and SSL is setup. Let us know if you have any problems.
