    Non-US shop query

    Hi,
I'm working as a programmer for a client who has MIVA Express, and since both she and her clients are mostly Canadian (so am I), I've been trying to find out how to change the States database to Provinces. All I have access at the moment is the demo on the MIVA website, so I'm not sure if there are any options.

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out with this.

I do not believe MIVA Express allows you to change that.

That's disapointing. I'd really like to be able to do it.

Is it possible to isolate and recode that portion? I've got a couple of documents on the MIVA language (which migh be out of date, but still...), and I know PHP, SQL, etc.

I don't think MM Express will let you do any real manipulations. That would be more for the full blown MIVA Merchant.

If you wish to make any changes - the client will need to upgrade to a full MIVA Merchant 5 store.

The whole point of MIVA Express and MIVA Fast Track products, is to have an easy to use store - with very little functionality and editing. MIVA Express is the most restricted version and allows NO changes to the store, other than manipulation of product and categories.

            Thanks for the info.

I'll probably look into alternate webshop applications.

What type of database does Miva Express use and do you have access to it?

Probably mivasql - but remember it's a hosted option and most likely access to the database is restricted.
