Using Miva Merchant Express and Miva Payment, is there a way to have downloadable files for sale? For instance, they buy the file, and miva automatically sends an email containing the link to download the file? Thanks for your help!

Not with MIVA Merchant Express. You'll need to use the full version of MIVA Merchant, either v4.24 or v5. There are couple 3rd party modules available that make the selling of downloadable products possible in those versions - just not in "Express" which is stripped down and very limited in functionality.
