webmastertools - previous domain index still in Google

Client changed his domain name about 1.5 y ago. Today I stumbled in Google's webmastertools over a lot of 404 using the old domains structure. When checking to see where the link is coming from it displays the old domain name by what the old domain name is now a alias of the new domain. Anybody have a solution of getting Google to dumb the old index completely? I don't have anywhere the index so that I could request a removal ... Any help appreciated.

Does the old domain redirect with a 301? (Just checking the obvious).

dunno, Miva set it up a long time ago and in Plesk I see the old domain set as an alias.

Hey Bruce, just talked to Dan and the 301 redirect wasn't activated for the domain alias. By turning it on Google should drop the site from the index now. Just adding all the redirects is a real pain. Don't want to loose any link juice :)
