Well, we just went to a new domain name, without the www. And, that is when we ran into the issue of cost of Cloudflare. 2500 redirects will never do. What about stackpath now?

I think you'll find Akamai a non-starter if your opinion of Cloudflare is that they're big bucks; Akamai is generally a multiple of Cloudflare's monthly price for at least the starting point up through beginning enterprise plans.

You should be able to use Cloudflare's Bulk Redirects functionality for up to 2500 redirects for free in the $25/mo plan, or 250,000 in the base enterprise plan before additional cost.

Does anyone have recommendations on a CDN provider instead of Cloudflare?

Cloudflare charges big bucks to manage 301s on their end but there are advantages to having the CDN do it.
