Power Search Issues

We are still using the obsolute Powersearch module by Emporium Plus (I don't even think we have the most recent version, but it appears to have disappeared from the web so we can't even update). Anyway, we are working on migrating our search, but right now, until the new search is functional (who knows how long), we need to exclude certain categories from the search results. Is there a way to do this? I don't see it in the documentation, but I feel like I remember something to this effect.

Please advise.

And, if anyone knows where I can get files for the most recent version, I would appreciate it.

Here's the link to the only documentation for Power Search. I "think" version 5.1250 is the more current version. Reach out to Brennan at Miva to get the files.
