Ecommerce software provider Miva Merchant has released an update to its core software product available today. Users of the Miva Merchant software can log into their store administration panel and stream the update to their store to take advantage of the new features offered with zero downtime.
Production Release 8 Update 8 adds support for thermal label printing using Zebra printers or any thermal printer that supports the ZPL language. Storeowners are now able to print thermal labels from inside the administration panel which will make the shipping and fulfillment process that much easier.
Miva Merchant has supported label printing for a while but only to standard ink jet or laser printers. Many of Miva Merchant's larger customers already had access to using thermal labels through third party order management integrations. The addition of supporting thermal printing directly from the application will assist our smaller and midsized merchants by providing them the same features utilized by their larger competitors without any additional hassle or cost.
Aside from thermal label printing, Update 8 also includes several bug fixes and behind-the-scenes improvements.
"Thermal printing support has been one of the most requested wish list items from our customers," says Rick Wilson, President - COO of Miva Merchant. "With the holidays approaching, we worked very hard to get this time saving feature out to our customer base so they can focus on selling and not on printing labels."
